Whether you want to force a meeting with the Warden or just learn how to avoid him, learning more about this miniboss is essential if you want to plan an excursion into the Deep Dark's Ancient Cities to uncover some of Minecraft's new goodies.
In Minecraft, who is the Warden?
The Warden is a brand-new hostile mob in Minecraft. It is a ferocious predator that appears to be unbeatable in a regular Survival world. The Warden is presently one of Minecraft's most powerful adversaries due to its ability to kill players in a single hit (Netherite armor does provide some extra protection).
When the Warden emerges, it will use sound and scent to locate nearby players. Because the Warden is deafeningly deafeningly deafeningly deafeningly deafeningly deaf Danger arises when you relocate or stay in the same spot for an extended period.
Moving around the Deep Dark causes vibrations that the Warden can detect, whilst sitting stationary allows the Warden to detect you. This makes exploring the Deep Dark more challenging, but we have some strategies for avoiding and escaping the Warden down there.
While the Warden increases the risk of subterranean tips, Minecraft 1.19 also increases their profitability. If you're brave enough to go underground, you'll uncover plenty of new things in the Ancient Cities, such as Echo Shards, which can be used to build a Recovery Compass. It should be noted, however, that the Warden does not drop any treasure. After all, this isn't a mob you're supposed to beat.
Where can I find the Warden in Minecraft?
The Warden can only be found in the Deep Dark. It will not climb to the surface to wreak devastation in the open air as of Minecraft 1.19. Because the Deep Dark is situated below Y=0, you will most likely come upon it when digging for diamonds.
When you reach the Deep Dark, you should bring a torch with you to illuminate your surroundings. Simply begin roaming about to summon the Warden. Sculk, a new block that allows vibrations to pass through the Deep Dark, covers the Deep Dark. Movement, opening doors, looting chests, and putting objects will produce vibrations that will be picked up by Sculk Shriekers, who will subsequently raise an alarm, spawning the Warden.

That's all you need to know if you want to find the Warden and challenge it to a fight. Simply dig down until you reach the Deep Dark, then speed about for a few seconds until you see the Warden. When the Warden is around, neighboring candles and other light sources will begin to flash.
In Minecraft 1.19, learn how to dodge and escape the Warden
So, you confronted the Warden and perished. Was it worth the effort? No, most likely not. Now we'll go through how to avoid the Warden and how to escape the Warden if you find yourself in a sticky situation.
Crouch and sneak if you wish to evade the Warden while exploring the Deep Dark. Because sneaking does not cause vibrations to propagate through neighboring Sculk, you can walk about without triggering Sculk Shriekers. Sculk Sensors, which are little traps located throughout the Deep Dark, must still be avoided. If you walk over them, they will emit signals that may notify the Warden.
While you're not sneaking, every noise you make creates a vibration that alerts the Warden and draws it closer. It's recommended to explore the Deep Dark alone, for the Warden will hear and attack other monsters, including friendly axolotls and foxes.
If the Warden is nearby, you can divert its attention by tossing something loud. For example, if you shoot an arrow or toss a snowball, the Warden will examine the sound and allow you to flee.

Sneaking in Minecraft slows you down significantly, but thankfully, Minecraft 1.19 introduces a new enchantment to alleviate the problem. If you can make it through the Deep Dark and explore the Ancient Cities within, you could find an enchanted book with the Swift Sneak enchantment. Swift Sneak allows you to move significantly faster while sneaking, making it indispensable for daring Deep Dark explorers.
If the Warden discovers you and you need to flee quickly, we recommend racing to the nearest light source. The Warden will burrow underground to hide in well-lit places or in the sunshine, so take advantage of this to get away. However, because the Warden may easily outrun the player at default movement rates, you may want to consider drinking a Potion of Swiftness for this sprint.
