Select a secure location before using magic because casting spells takes a few seconds each usage.

This enables the player to go thousands of blocks without having to walk back, embark on lengthy cave adventures without having to remember how to get home, etc. But be aware that using Hearthstone requires some time of focused attention, and moving or taking damage will distract you. Use Hearthstone only when required because it has a 30-minute cooldown period in between usages. Simply sneak-right-click on a bed and hold it to link the Hearthstone.
